Sharam Launches New Podcast Yoshitoshi Radio

After ending his popular Wildcast mix show in March, Sharam has unveiled a new radio and podcast series, Yoshitoshi Radio, to be aired weekly in one-hour segments.  The new format puts a strong emphasis on Yoshitoshi, the label that Sharam has helmed for over twenty years and which to this day operates on the cutting edge of house and techno.  The show features Sharam’s live DJ sets from the best clubs in the world as well as live-in-the-studio mixes constructed from the mind-bending music that he is an expert at presenting.  Each episode is packed with unreleased Yoshitoshi records, exclusive promos, and dusted-off classics.  Special guests will contribute DJ mixes once a month, and Sharam will also host a special bi-monthly “Stranger Beats” edition of the program, which highlights the most captivating experimental and left-field records in his crate.

Episode 001 comes to you live from the legendary Warung club in Brazil, one of Sharam's favorite places to play.  The set was during carnaval, so the crowd and energy were absolutely amazing.  It's a perfect set to launch the new series.

Sharam Unveils 'Scorpi' - The First Track Off New Album Collecti

Continuously reimagining his sound and style, the Grammy-winning artist Sharam digs deep into his bag of production tricks for his new project Collecti (pronounced “collect-eye”), drawing heavily from the darker influences of techno. The album is comprised of a host of new material that he has been field testing with incredible response.

"Collecti is a culmination of work that represents my endeavors into a sound that has always been near and dear to my heart and central to my sets: Techno. For my last album Retroactive, I was fixated on all of my influences over the years, for this album, however, my focus is on the darker realms. These records are my dance floor experiments, my secret weapons, tracks that have been driving my sets and I’m excited to share this body of work with everyone.” - Sharam

Collecti will be released in three parts over the course of Summer 2017, with a full mixed version and bonus material arriving in October, just in time for ADE.

Sharam Completes South America Tour, Publishes Podcast

"This past september, I embarked on a four-day mini South  American tour as part of the release of my new album Retroactive, which came out on Sony South America.  The tour started in Bogota, Colombia and Club Octava and in Santiago, Chile at Bunker followed by Privilege at Buzios, Brazil and Crobar in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  It was a phenomenal mini tour thatreminded me why I love South America so much and, more importantly, it was a reminder that underground music is alive and well amidst the bombardment of cookie cutter music that hastaken over the world.  The crowds in all four cities were well-educated and ready to let go and join me on a musical ride.I recorded a few of the sets and I‘m very happy to share one of them with you.  here is my set live from Crobar Buenos Aires, where I was able to take the crowd on an eclectic musical ride with the emphasis on keeping it deep and dark with flares of light."
